When my alarm went off at 4:45am Saturday morning, the first thing I did was take a few deep breaths. This was going to be a day like none other I’ve experienced. I was going to push myself harder than ever before, in a challenge that would redefine what I’m capable of, what I could endure, and what I can rise above.

I’ve been training in a skyscraper stairwell again. I’ve headed to a 55-story skyscraper twice in the past few weeks to climb the stairs, and I’m headed back there tomorrow.

I’ve now climbed the stairs in FIVE different skyscrapers in downtown Los Angeles! I added the fifth to the list just the other day, when I attended a training session at the Wells Fargo Center, which reaches 55 stories above the ground.
