Another month, another weigh-in! Here’s the results after I got on the scale yesterday, as shown on my weight loss chart:

We’re already over a week into September, and I’m just now posting my first-of-the-month weigh-in results. There’s some shame involved, and some depression, too, so let’s just spit it out:

I do a monthly weigh-in, and I took a deep breath before stepping on the scale the other day. I reminded myself of what I wrote last week (about rethinking maintenance), including that while the number on the scale is an indicator of how things are going, it’s just one of many.
The big picture is that I’ve done – and continue to do – incredible things, so I’m gonna try to not equate a smaller number with success, or a larger number with failure. Nor will I make any judgments regarding self-worth, positive or negative, after reading the scale.

Remember the depression I mentioned last week? I’m feeling much better (thank you for all your messages and encouragement!), but I gotta address that depression one last time, because it had an effect on my weight. I do a weigh-in on the first of every month, and this one came after nearly two weeks of feeling kinda low. As a result, this is what I added to my weight loss chart the other morning:

Sorry for the delay, folks! Normally I do my monthly weigh-in at the first of the month, but I was in Michigan when March began, and I didn’t weigh myself until I returned home, a few days later.
