My Overnight Trip to Las Vegas Had Lots of Ups and Downs

March 2, 2016

I’m talkin’ about ROLLER COASTERS! The night before the big Scale the Strat race, my friend Tavi and I met Tavi’s friend Sarah for dinner, then we headed over to New York, New York to ride The Roller Coaster.

It used to be called Manhattan Express, but now it’s The Roller Coaster. It’s 203 feet high, hits 67 mph, and goes upside down twice, all while Read the rest of this entry »

This Town is Full of Jackasses! (48 Hours in Laughlin, Part 2)

December 11, 2015

The good thing about going to Laughlin, Nevada in December is that it’s not outrageously hot. It got into the low ’70s while I was there, whereas the average temperature in July is a scorching 110 degrees. I found plenty of reasons of head outside during my short visit, and one of them was… to meet donkeys!

This Stairwell Smells Like Weed (48 Hours in Laughlin, Part 1)

December 10, 2015

I recently spent a couple days in Laughlin, Nevada, and I have a LOT of pictures to share. So many that I can’t do it in one post! (You can find Part 2 here.)

Laughlin is a little casino resort town in the very southern tip of Nevada, on the Colorado river. Only 8,000 people live there, but thanks to the casinos, it has a nice little skyline.

I Love the Omelet House in Las Vegas!

March 7, 2014
Plus, exciting news at the end of this post!

Despite the great food at the Bellagio and Wynn that I blogged about yesterday, my favorite meal during my Las Vegas trip was at a diner a couple miles from the Strip. We wanted a quick meal before the drive back to LA, and this place showed up as a nearby option. We didn’t know a lick about it before pulling up, and it was a fantastic surprise.

It’s called the Omelet House, and there’s not much to look at on the outside:

Inside, though, was a whole different story. It was full of Read the rest of this entry »

February 3, 2014

It’s been almost two and a half months since I’ve done any stair climb racing… time to announce my next race!

After competing in five stair climb races in and around Los Angeles (read about them all here), I’m spreading my wings and heading to a completely different state. So long, California… and hello, Nevada! My next race is on Sunday, March 2, 2014 and it’s up the tallest structure in Las Vegas…
