At the beginning of the year, I set out to complete a great big fitness challenge: in honor of my 40th birthday, I decided to compete in 40 races in 2019. I’m happy to share that I’m halfway to my goal, and have achieved some notable accomplishments along the way, including – drum roll please – my first-ever age group podium win!
I’m going to get into details of that age group podium win shortly, but first, some big picture stats. I’ve done 20 races since the beginning of January. I’ve done more races in the past five months than I’ve ever done in any previous year. Wow. Read the rest of this entry »

But before I rush forth, whole-hog, into the new year, I have some housekeeping to do with 2018. This annual post is one of my favorites, and I can’t wait to jump into… My 2018 Year-End Progress Report!
One of my favorite photos from 2018.

First things first: I lost a card game when I was in Colorado last week. The punishment was running barefoot through 6″ of snow. It was cold. And it was all captured on video by my nephew Sam. Enjoy!
Two thoughts about that video: Read the rest of this entry »

The other day I had one pooped out puppy.
I secretly hoped, when I adopted JJ, that he would become a running buddy. I never questioned JJ’s ability to run… but would he run alongside me? Only one way to find out!
