Four Tips For Eating at a Buffet That I Figured Out During a Vacation in Mexico

January 3, 2018

I spent Christmas on a fantastic vacation in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. My whole family met up there, and we stayed at an all-inclusive resort. And, like many all-inclusive resorts, this one had a lot of buffets.

I haven’t eaten at many buffets since I started losing weight, and the thought of all the buffets was a bit daunting. After all, they Read the rest of this entry »

Ten Hours in Reykjavik, Iceland!

September 20, 2017

It’s been a minute since I’ve posted on here, and that’s because I just spent a week in Europe! I went to visit my friend Katherine in Sweden, but on my way there, I had a long layover in Iceland. And even though my stay was short, I made the most of it.

Conrad is 13 years old and completely blind, and I love hanging out with him! Laura has been on her own health kick for quite some time, and she’s still going strong: Read the rest of this entry »

Christmas In Michigan, Part One: I Ate Too Much Food

December 29, 2016

I’m back in California after a wonderful week celebrating Christmas in Michigan. Usually I’m good about eating well while traveling, but this time I ate too much. I also exercised like a maniac (more on that in my next post), so I’m not wallowing in guilt or regret. I enjoyed good food with friends and family, and I’m already back on track with my healthy habits.

Can I start with a brag? My cheese board skills are ON POINT:

This was our appetizer before Read the rest of this entry »

Hiking, Horses, and a Helicopter During A Wedding Weekend in Phoenix

May 3, 2016

What a fantastic weekend! My high school friend Emily got married to a great guy named Rich, and that was an excellent reason to head to Phoenix for a few days. Here I am with the bride, and our high school friend Heather:

That’s Heather’s husband Adam photobombing us in the back! You may remember Emily from this post, which has a photo of her in one of her jaw-dropping ballroom dancing costumes, but she was also Read the rest of this entry »
