The most difficult thing that I moved from California to Michigan was my new Bowflex HVT machine. It was challenging because it’s big, bulky, and awkwardly shaped. It’s an awesome machine, don’t get me wrong, but it’s not easy to get around!

That right there is a piece of home exercise equipment that Read the rest of this entry »

A big part of our Easter dinner was… green eggs and ham!

The ham was a spiral-cut ham from the grocery store that we baked and glazed. The deviled eggs, though, were a new recipe, with the green color coming from Read the rest of this entry »

When I moved to Michigan, I didn’t bring tons of stuff. I sold a few things, tossed out a few things, and donated a heckuva lot to thrift stores. I didn’t bring any furniture – just clothes, books and knick-knacks, and kitchenwares. The biggest items that went on the moving truck were my exercise equipment. I’ll need to work out in Michigan!

That’s my Schwinn Classic Cruiser. It’s an exercise bike, but with some really fun features and qualities. Read the rest of this entry »

Long story short: I’ve been making good healthy food choices since I arrived in Michigan.
Short story long: I’ve taken some, but not many, photos of my meals since arriving in town. I’m gonna share them! Read the rest of this entry »

I’ve raced up stairwells all over the United States, and last year I raced up the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Earlier today, I competed in my second international race, at the iconic CN Tower in Toronto, Ontario, Canada!

Although it’s a completely different country, Toronto is only about a 4.5-hour drive from where I’m living in Read the rest of this entry »

It’s only the fourth month of the year, but I’ve already raced more in 2019 than I did in 2011, 2012, and 2013 combined. That’s because I’m in the middle of my #40years40races challenge, which is my quest to compete in 40 races in 2019, in honor of my recent 40th birthday.

I’m doing stair races and running races, and I’ve done so many races in the past few months that I’m starting to lose count. I need to Read the rest of this entry »

Breaking news! My road trip is over. I arrived to my final destination in metro Detroit yesterday. Here’s one final road trip picture of me and JJ, taken in the driveway of my parents’ house, where I’m living now.

This was after 15 days, 3,041 miles, and nearly 50 hours in the car. Read the rest of this entry »

Greetings from Omaha! JJ and I are at the end of a long day that started in Colorado, involved about 10 hours of driving, and included a 5K race!

I’ll get to all those details, but maybe I should Read the rest of this entry »
