I’m back in Los Angeles after two weeks in Michigan. The first week was spent in St. Joseph, but I haven’t shared much about my second week, except for the awesome motivational speaking gig that happened one night. So there’s a lot to catch up on!

Last week, I had the pleasure of giving a motivational talk at Birmingham Next, a nonprofit community center in Birmingham, Michigan, down the street from the high school I graduated from. It was a packed house!
About 70 folks filled the room, and I hate to toot my own horn, but… wait, what am I talking about? Sometimes it’s great to toot my own horn! It was freakin’ awesome!

So many stairs!

My recent flight to Detroit included a two-hour layover in San Francisco. My philosophy about layovers is this: I had just spent time (sometimes hours) on a cramped airplane, and I have more cramped airplane excitement ahead of me, so when I have time to kill in an airport during a layover, I want to stretch my long legs (I’m 6’4″) and move.
