Last weekend was the Stair Climb for Los Angeles, the Downtown-Ketchum YMCA’s annual race up the stairwell in the 75-story US Bank Tower, from the sidewalk to the tallest roof in Los Angeles!

This was my fifth consecutive year competing, and while I was excited to attempt a new personal best, I didn’t have Read the rest of this entry »

Time for Part Two of my Sweden Two-Parter! My first Sweden post focused on food. This one is about everything else, including exercise. And ABBA!

On my first full day in Sweden, Katherine and I headed into Stockholm to check out the ABBA Museum. It’s technically called Read the rest of this entry »

My first visit to Iceland was actually a long layover… on my way to Sweden! Longtime readers will know I’ve been to Sweden before – this is actually my fourth trip there, and the third since I started this blog. (Hankering for more posts about Sweden? Here’s my archive.)

My friends Katherine and Peter live in that house in the distance, located Read the rest of this entry »

It’s been a minute since I’ve posted on here, and that’s because I just spent a week in Europe! I went to visit my friend Katherine in Sweden, but on my way there, I had a long layover in Iceland. And even though my stay was short, I made the most of it.

My plane landed in the middle of the afternoon, and the airport is Read the rest of this entry »

Last night I went with friends to “The Muppets Take The Bowl” – the most sensational, inspirational, celebrational, Muppetational concert event I’ve ever been to.

Maggie, Mat, me, Jen, and little Callie before the show started.
It was at the Hollywood Bowl – the huge, 18,000-seat outdoor amphitheater in the Hollywood hills – a venue where Read the rest of this entry »

I’ve been in a radish kind of mood lately. Radishes are delightful: crunchy and spicy and downright delicious.

And guess what? They’re good for you! Radishes are a good source of fiber, vitamins C and B6, folate, manganese, and potassium. And since a cup of sliced radishes only has 19 calories, go nuts!
Here’s a fun fact I just learned: Read the rest of this entry »

You know it’s going to be a good day when you’re pinning a race bib to your shirt at 5:30 am!

I’ve done a few running races this year (like the 10K Pride Run and the 10K Coaster Run), but I was much more excited for this race – because it was in a location that, the rest of the year, is completely closed to pedestrians: Read the rest of this entry »
