You all know I like to play with my food, right? I recently opened a new package of eggs, picked two at random to scramble, and had a breakfast brainstorm that made me reach for my Sharpies. So I hosted… an egg funeral!

The brainstorm was sad. Or rather, I thought how sad the other eggs would be. After all, they’ve come this far together: from the farm (or factory farm) to the processing and distribution facility, to the grocery store shelf, to my shopping cart, through the check-out, and ultimately to their new home in my fridge, only to have two of them torn from the rest for my healthy eating needs.

Surely that’s gotta cause some emotional turmoil.

And now I have something that makes me smile every time I open the fridge! (For now, at least. I am slowly eating my way through all the funeral attendees.)
