Six years ago this month, I weighed 402 pounds.
Six years ago this month, Richard Simmons reached out to me, after meeting me in person only a couple hours before, and offered to help me lose weight.
Six years ago this month, and after 2 or 3 weeks of hemming and hawing, I took Richard up on his offer.
It’s been six long years that I’ve been working hard to get my health under control, and the end result still astounds me: I’ve lost 160 pounds and kept it off!

Smoothies are usually a let’s-see-what-I-have-around affair. I’ll put in a little of this, a little of that, whatever fruits and veggies are about to go bad, or whatever, and I never measure or even jot down how I made them. That makes mediocre smoothies easy to forget, and great smoothies difficult to replicate!

Time for one of my favorite posts of the year! (And it’s only January 5th!) You all know that every month I share my weigh-in results and workout progress report. Well, once a year, I take a look at the bigger picture and do a Year-End Progress Report! This will be the fifth year that I’ve crunched the numbers, and I’m excited to see what they say.
