Stay tuned for a Birthday Burpees update at the end!
Sorry for the delay, folks! Normally I do my monthly weigh-in at the first of the month, but I was in Michigan when March began, and I didn’t weigh myself until I returned home, a few days later. This post was further delayed due to my birthday and the enormous Birthday Burpees challenge that came along with it.
No more delays! I stepped on the scale last week, and it said…
…247 pounds. I’m holding steady at the same weight, for the third consecutive weigh-in.
I’ve been exercising like a madman lately, so I can chalk up the lack of a loss to my eating, which, while good, could be better. I’m doing what I can, though, and I’m happy with maintaining, which is easier said than done.
And I don’t want to forget that 247 pounds means that I’ve lost and kept off 155 pounds. That is still so awesome. Here’s my whole weight-loss chart:
Now back to that “exercising like a madman” comment… here’s the proof. It’s my February workout calendar:
Every dot equals a workout. There are 25 dots. 25 workouts in 28 days means I exercised 89% of the time – which is above my 85% goal. Nine of those workouts were lifting weights, including the Totally Drenched class I took. I only took one class at Slimmons, but it was a good one.
Another sign of exercise success? My cardio miles chart. I log all the miles I complete doing any form of cardio (running, elliptical, biking, etc.) and add it all up. In February, I added 50.5 miles to my total, bringing it to 1,443.8 miles.
I’m closing in on 1,500 miles!
Time for a quick Birthday Burpees update. After doing 400 burpees in three days, I thought I was ready to slow it down, but on Monday I tried a new tactic. I did 20 burpees every hour, on the hour. (Working from home makes it easy to stay in gym clothes all day!)
Spreading my workout out across the entire day was a new experience for me, and I liked it. I started at 9am, and went until 6pm – that’s 200 burpees! I had fun adding all those hash marks to my progress sheet:
That brings my total to 600 – just a few dozen burpees away from reaching the 2/3 mark. Only 370 burpees to go!
Keep it up, David!
