IT’S MY BIRTHDAY! I’m turning 36 years old today.
Before you go rushing out to buy me flowers or gift cards, take a minute or two and give me what I really want: BURPEES.
That’s right. Burpees. You have the power to assign me lots and lots of burpees. Intrigued? Read on!
Burpees are an exercise that combine jumping and push-ups, and they’re tough. There are different variations of burpees you can do, depending on your fitness level, but here’s how to do the kind I do most frequently:
The thing with burpees is that they’re really good for you. They get your heart rate up very quickly and use tons of muscles throughout your body, so they’re effective and they burn calories.
So, for my birthday, I’ve issued myself a social media challenge, and it involves YOU. I’ve posted versions of this image on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Google+, and I’m going to honor it:
BRING IT ON. I’m serious. How many burpees will you all make me do?
- Like and Share the image on my Facebook page.
- Retweet and Favorite the image on my Twitter page.
- Like the image on my Instagram page (I think you can only do through the app, and I’m @keepitudavid).
- +1 and Share the image on my Google+ page.
Spread the word. Get your family and friends to Like, Retweet, Share, and so on. The more you’re involved, the more burpees I do. And I wanna do a LOT of burpees!
I’ll post updates on this blog, and on social media (using #BirthdayBurpees) so you can track my progress. If you guys make me do more burpees than I can do in one workout, then I’ll spread them out. I’ll get them done, no matter if it takes me a day, a week, a month, or longer.
Because GOOD HEALTH is the best birthday present of all.
