I’m ending the year in a big exciting way… I’m gonna be on a talk show!
The show is called “Home & Family” and it airs on the Hallmark Channel. It’s a daily 2-hour lifestyle show, with segments about food, crafts, health, fashion, do-it-yourself projects, and stuff like that. I’ll be interviewed by hosts Mark Steines and Christina Ferrare about my weight loss journey, and how Richard Simmons helped me lose the pounds.
Set your DVRs! It airs on Tuesday, December 31st at 10am (9 central) on Hallmark Channel! It will be available online, too – you can watch full episodes on the show’s website for a week or two after it airs on TV. For more information about the show, visit the show’s website.

This post will be a combination of many things. There’s good news. Yay! There’s bad news. Boo! There’s more bad news. Double Boo! And there’s a lot to catch up on. Let’s not waste any time!
First and foremost, I’m back to exercising…. for now. (Cue foreboding music. That ‘for now’ will be explained later.) Read the rest of this entry »

I’ve been forced to take a unplanned hiatus from exercise this week, thanks to an annoying and painful injury. I think I have a bruised rib. It’s the worst.
Ironically enough, I injured myself while exercising. (Perhaps that isn’t actually irony, but it is when you use the Alanis Morissette definition.) I was out for a run on Sunday afternoon when Read the rest of this entry »

Hey, remember my Cardio to Vegas challenge? In June, I challenged myself to do enough cardio to take me the 274 miles from my home in Los Angeles to Las Vegas, Nevada. It was a virtual journey: I logged all the miles I completed running, biking, and on the elliptical, and plotted my progress on a map. It was an awesome and effective challenge – read more about it on my Cardio to Vegas page.
Even though I reached my goal in September, I’ve still been logging the miles I complete during my cardio. They say that old habits die hard, and this is proof! For the first time since reaching my goal, I’ve plotted my progress on a map. Wanna see where I am now?
I’m in Utah!

As of December 1st, I’ve logged a total of Read the rest of this entry »

One of the fun things about taking Richard Simmons’ aerobics classes is that Richard likes to dress up, and you never know what what he’s going to be wearing when he walks in the door. Lately, he’s been sporting a lot of wigs, and the wig he wore last night was the craziest one yet:

Sometimes I don’t look forward to weigh-ins when they happen right after a trip, but that wasn’t the case this weekend. I got home on Saturday evening from 4 days in Colorado, but had a hunch that my weigh-in on Sunday morning would go well. And it did! Check it out!

I’ve been trying for months to Read the rest of this entry »
