The Fat-Burning Man

I totally forgot to mention this in yesterday’s post… but I’m the guest this week on The Fat-Burning Man Show podcast!

The Fat-Burning Man is the growing mini-empire started by Abel James, a Texas-based author and health and fitness expert. At the beginning of this year, he started interviewing people for a podcast series, and I was honored to be his very first guest. Read about it here. Last week, Abel reached out and asked if I was free for another interview. Hell yeah!

Abel created a neat little graphic for his own website. He realized that my 165-pound weight loss is equivalent to what he weighs, and represented that in a mathematical equation:

During the interview, we had a great chat about weight loss maintenance, how to avoid falling into old habits, and some of the specific ways my life has changed over the past few years. Abel is so easy to talk with, and it was great to catch up with him. Maybe one of these days I’ll get to meet him in person!

Oh, and here’s something that’s really cool. Since my first interview on The Fat-Burning Man, the podcast has become huge. Abel gets around 100,000 listeners a week, and is on track to hit 1 million listeners by the end of the year. One million! Keep it up, Abel!

And if you’re one of Abel’s listeners that’s checking out this website for the first time, then I welcome you! Read this post for an introduction to what I do here.

OK – that’s all for now. I gotta figure out what I’m going to pack for my lunch tomorrow!

Keep it up, David!

I just heard your podcast on FatBurningMan. OH BOY can I ever relate to the whole story — the airplane — the cars — the new form that catches you by surprise — the anxst — the terror about possibly gaining any or all of it back again. Thank you for sharing. I’m 120 pounds into a 200 pound journey. It felt really nice to hear someone else with the same perspectives.

I totally roared over the height of oreo cookies or the weight of quarters. I had already given some thought to the pile of dog food though. I’ll probably still do it anyway …. I plan on sitting on them…. and man that pile will be high! I’d invite you to go look at my story …. My husband convinced me to start a blog after about a year of the journey:
