Last Slimmons Class of 2010

Tonight I went to my final class at Slimmons for 2010.  I’m leaving Los Angeles to head back to Michigan on Thursday (don’t you worry – I’ll still be blogging from the Great Lake State) and I’m not coming back until until we all turn the calendar page to 2011.  Richard was teaching, and the class was fun, and I was sweating.  It’s been a while since I’ve posted these pictures, so in honor of my last class of the year, I’ll post them again: My ‘Before’ and ‘Current’ pics with Richard:

Before (January 16, 2010 – My first ever Slimmons class):

Current (well, not so current – from September 2010):

Yesterday’s exercise was cardio at the gym.  I started with 11 minutes on the treadmill to warm up, as I waited for an elliptical to open up, and once I got the elliptical, I went for an hour straight.  The time flew – I was watching “The Sing-Off” on the little TV built into the elliptical, and I was enjoying it much more than I thought I would.  Except for Nicole Scherzinger, who is a bit of a snooze as a judge.  She sure is good at talking without ever actually saying much.

Tomorrow I’ll be up early and headed to the park to workout with Oscar and Joe – it will be the last of these park workouts this year, too, before heading to Michigan.

I wish I had something interesting to write about in regards to my eating, but I don’t.  I haven’t cooked or prepared anything noteworthy since the frititty the other day, and the table queen squash that’s sitting on my counter will likely sit there until I get back in the new year (good thing they keep, like, forever).  It’s been a lot of raw fruits and vegetables the past two days, often rolled up in tortillas, and beans and egg beaters for protein.  And oatmeal.  And a Lean Cuisine.  And some other random things thrown in there.  There! You’re all caught up.  And you’re bored – I know I am.

But hopefully good news tomorrow – I’ll be weighing myself, and maybe, just maybe, I’ll reach my next goal!

Keep it up, David!

PS I remember being overweight in jr high and my mom buying “Sweating to the Oldies” and making me work out… so when I see Richard Simmons some negative feelings come back, but only because I was 12 and forced to follow his routines because I felt I shamed my mom… Honestly, as an adult – I see what he has done all his life helping people… and it’s amazing. So i’m glad I found this post…. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by and welcome to Keep It Up David! I know the feeling of shame all too well – but the good thing about memories is that you can always create new ones.
I was just looking at your blog, and I love all your weekly goals. Good luck on your journey and I look forward to checking in on your blog and seeing your progress!
