My birthday is coming up. This Saturday, March 5, I will be turning 32 years old. And this year, I’m not gonna be the only one getting presents… one of the ways I want to celebrate is to give something away to one of the readers of this very blog! It’s time for… My Birthday Giveaway Contest!
First, to answer the question that’s been on everyone’s mind (for the past 20 seconds): What can I win? Drum roll, please… it’s a…
FREE TEN DOLLAR TARGET GIFT CARD!

I love Target. I don’t know anyone that doesn’t love Target. There are Targets all over the place. They have a great website. These four reasons made a Target Gift Card an easy decision when planning this giveaway.
I suppose, in the interest of full disclosure, I should mention that Target did not furnish this card, nor are they a sponsor of this blog (although they are more than welcome to contact me regarding sponsorship opportunities at the email address listed on my Contact page!). I purchased this gift card, with my own cash money, with the express purpose of giving it away. Possibly to YOU.
Which brings me to how to enter. Read carefully!
1) Go to the Keep It Up, David Facebook page.
2) Post a comment on my wall. It can be anything you want: a comment, a poem, some song lyrics, a single word, your favorite healthy recipe, a phrase that sounds dirty but really isn’t, anything. Be creative! (You’ll note that in order to post something, you’ll have to “like” the page by clicking the “Like” button at the top. If you already “like” the page, and have for a while, than my thanks to you, and look at that! You just skipped a step!)
3) Come back here, and post THE EXACT SAME thing as a Comment on this blog post.
4) That’s it! You’ve officially entered! I will be cross-checking all entries, so don’t think you’ll get away with just posting on either Facebook or the blog. Anyone that doesn’t post on both will be disqualified. If you don’t post THE EXACT SAME thing on both, you’ll be disqualified too! If you’re not on Facebook, than you better sign up, because there’s no other way that you’re gonna win!
The DEADLINE is 11:59pm (Pacific Standard Time) on Friday, March 4, 2011. That’s the last minute I’ll be 31 years old.
Now you’re thinking, “Great! I’ve successfully posted something witty and insightful on both the Keep It Up, David Facebook Page, and as a Comment on this blog post – how will he determine a winner?” That’s a GREAT question.
Everyone that enters will be assigned a number, based on the order in which your entry is received. Then, after the deadline passes, I’ll use the Random Number Generator at random.org to pick a winner! I’d like to say that this will happen on Saturday, March 5, but that’s my birthday, so in all actuality it may not happen until Sunday, March 6. Hopefully the suspense won’t prevent you from sleeping!
Once I have a winner, I’ll contact you via email to figure out delivery. You’ll have the choice of a e-GiftCard, which will arrive in your inbox within a matter of hours (but can only be used at Target.com), or an actual gift card that I can pop in the mail. Decisions, decisions!
Good luck – and tell all your friends!
Keep it up, David!
